Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA Or the California Dream Act Application (CADAA) (click on links)

 

Apply for the FAFSA if you: Are a U.S. Citizen; Are a Permanent Resident (Green Card); or, Are an eligible non-citizen

 

Apply for the CADAA if you are: Undocumented (with or without DACA); Have a U-Visa; or, Have Temporary Protected Status

Information about the FAFSA:

The U.S. Department of Education uses the FAFSA to determine eligibility for federal student aid, including low-cost loans, grants, and work-study. The FAFSA may also determine eligibility or state and school aid, and many scholarships.

If you want to attend a 4-year College, Community/Junior College, or Trade School you need to complete the FAFSA annually.

Type of Financial Aid Programs:

1) GRANTS:  Providing funds now, but with no future repayment obligation.

2) LOANS:  Providing funds now, but with a future repayment obligation.

3) SCHOLARSHIPS:  Gift assistance with no obligation for work or repayment

4) WORK-STUDY:  Student is offered part-time work while attending the institution
