Lighthouse Community Day School provides our 9th and 10th graders with the foundation skills required to excel when they become upper-division students, usually at Noyo High.  As with Noyo High and Shelter Cove, Lighthouse is a Big Picture Learning School.  Students havee the autonomy to develop learning plans that adhere to their personal interests while being encourage to explore new areas.  Students at Lighthouse CDS also engage in service learning in the community to begin building their workplace competency skillset.

Lighthouse CDS was recognized as one of the inuagral recipients of the California Department of Education's Model Community Day School Award.  The Model Schools Education Recognition Program recognizes outstanding alternative education schools.

Our School Site Council approves our school's annual plan and some categorical budget expenditures. New Site Council members are always needed.
